Aesthetics
From ceramics and batik painting to ukulele and beat-mixing, discover how Meridian's Aesthetics programme inspires every student to express, create, and appreciate the world through Art and Music.
Approach
At Meridian Primary, the Aesthetic Department nurtures creativity and self-expression through both Art and Music, guided by our four key approaches: Express, Exposure, Experience, and Appreciation.
• Express: We encourage every student to confidently express their unique ideas and emotions through diverse artistic and musical forms.
• Exposure: Students are introduced to a wide range of techniques, styles, and cultural influences that broaden their creative horizons.
• Experience: Hands-on activities, including performing, creating, and participating in competitions, allow students to engage actively and develop their skills.
• Appreciation: Through exploring art and music from local and global cultures, students cultivate respect and deeper understanding of cultural diversity and heritage.
Our Art program fosters innovation and imagination by offering varied opportunities for self-expression and showcasing talent, both inside and outside the school community.
In Music, we believe every child has innate musical potential. Our curriculum provides meaningful, enjoyable experiences that empower students to listen, sing, play instruments, and create music across different genres, connecting them with their cultural roots and the wider world.
